About me

I help first-time founders raise their first round of capital, with a particular focus on the investment documentation that actually decides whether a meeting becomes a term sheet — pitch decks, business plans, investor memorandums.

I grew up in Omagh, Northern Ireland, and moved to Wales at 18 to study Computer Science at Cardiff University, where I graduated with first-class honours. I came out of university through the Alacrity Programme — an intensive, founder-track incubator in Newport, South Wales — and have spent the years since working at the intersection of startups and investment readiness, both as a founder myself and as an advisor.

That advisory work has led me to work closely with accelerators and public-sector programmes. Across those engagements I've reviewed hundreds of pitch decks, business plans, and investor memos. It was there I began noticing the same structural problems appearinTcalg again and again, mostly invisible to the founders who'd written them.

That observation eventually became StartSmart, a platform I co-built specifically to decompose investment documents into 150+ structural questions and produce consistent, comprehensive feedback at scale. StartSmart now powers my own advisory work and is used by accelerator programmes across the UK and Ireland.

I'm spend my time between South London and Omagh. When I'm not working with founders, you’ll find me in Gatwick Airport…
